Later that day, however, Paul Masvidal denied these claims, stating that Cynic will continue "one way or another". A week later, Cynic announced a new incarnation (featuring Paul Masvidal, Sean Malone and Matt Lynch), a lineup that made its live debut on October 3rd, 2015 at the Euroblast festival in Cologne, Germany. Also, on September 11th, 2015, Reinert stated that Cynic was ultimately a 50-50 partnership between he and Masvidal. Reinert eventually came to an agreement with Masvidal on December 9th, 2017, which allowed the latter to continue with the band unabated.
