This 3-cd set re-issue of his Bach recordings. His performance is excellent; at times with a feather light touch and others a powerful energy. A few of his Goldberg Variations are sometimes extremely fast (perhaps a bit too fast for me) but the Aria is exquisitely gentle. His Chromatic Fantasy and Italian Concerto are of the best I've heard. The recording is surprisingly good with some minor tape hiss audible through headphones. But it did not interfere with my enjoyment of these outstanding vintage performances. It's a highly recommended recording for fans of Bach on piano.
